IT Systems Administrator (Part-Time) - 6 Months Contract (Renewable)

Function

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the effective installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems. This role provides technical support to staff and partners, ensuring the availability, security, and optimal performance of IT systems. The incumbent will also manage software licensing, ensure compliance with IT policies, and assist with IT training and documentation. This is a part-time position, requiring half-day work, Monday to Friday.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Software & Hardware Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain software packages such as Microsoft Windows OS, server applications, and desktop apps.
  • Manage FileMaker and Linux systems, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance across all platforms.
  • Setup, install, and configure hardware, network systems, and IT equipment to meet organizational standards.
  • Assist with the repair or replacement of IT equipment, when necessary, due to issues such as accidental damage or misuse.
  • Administer and manage database systems, ensuring their optimal performance and functionality.
  • Provide first-line support to staff and partners by resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Conduct IT-related training sessions focusing on systems and software usage, including Microsoft 365 programs and create documentation to help users understand systems and use them effectively.
  • Work closely with other team members to resolve technical issues and ensure optimal availability of computer systems.
  • Create and maintain a log of support requests, providing regular updates on activities and progress.

2. IT Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide on-site and remote IT support to staff and partners, resolving software and hardware issues quickly and effectively.
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical problems, ensuring minimal disruption to work operations.
  • Perform system backups regularly and assist with data recovery processes for lost or corrupted data.

3. Licensing & Compliance

  • Collaborate with other members of the project team to solve users’ computer problems and ensure the optimal availability of computer equipment and software.
  • Create and maintain a log of all user support requests and regularly report on activities.
  • Maintain accurate software license records and ensure compliance with legal requirements and organizational policies.
  • Ensure adherence to IntraHealth’s IT, computer, and network policies, maintaining the integrity and security of IT systems.

Job requirements

Minimum Education and Experience Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Information Systems (IS), or a related field with a focus on Systems Administration and Networking.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT support and system administration.
  • A+ and N+ certifications.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of desktop support techniques and methodologies

Language

  • Fluency in written and spoken English required; proficiency in local language preferred.
